Acne Clear Tips

Acne Help Tips
Help!!! How do I clear up my acne? Unfortunately most people including many so called "medical experts", have adopted a methodology that is completely backwards when it comes to the clear up and prevent acne. People spend thousands of dollars trying new things just looking for anything to help relieve or cure acne only to find out that just about everything they tried either didn't work at all or in some cases even made things worse. This happens for a couple reasons: one they really didn't know the real cause of there acne in the first place and two they don't realize that companies used marketing techniques just to get a sale. You must realize that most skin care companies are spending more of there time and money trying to figure out a new trend and hone there packaging techniques to get you to buy there products than they are making there product actually work like they say it does. So don't go chasing the latest trend exhausting all your energy and money. Find out the root cause of the acne, treat it, which can be done fairly inexpensively depending on the severity and what the real cause is and then prevent it from coming back. Here are a few methods of ensuring that those pesky little blemishes don't come back to haunt you:

Skin Type If you have extra dry skin, applying moisturizer twice per day is a good rule of thumb. If you have extra oily skin, make sure you use a "water based" or oil free lotion. Again apply twice per day. Try and use lotions with natural ingredients in them and little or no acids in them.

Topicals Acid Sometimes topicals are necessary for acne prevention. Depending on the person skin will respond better to an acidic regimen of creams and gels. There are three main acids you want to look for in medicated topicals: Salicylic acid, Alpha hydroxy(glycolic acid) and Benzoyl peroxide. These acids have different purposes. First wash affected area with the salicylic solution. This will kill any germs and bacteria. Then apply the alpha hydroxy. Pat dry gently. When applying topical creams, always disinfect hands first so as not to transfer bacteria to the face. Lay a cold pack across the affected area for one minute. This will make the skin contract and cause the pores open up allowing the medication to get down deep. Next apply benzoyl peroxide solution. Most people make the mistake of treating only the pimples. Treat well beyond the affected area. Lay cold pack on affected area for an additional five to ten minutes. This regimen is very effective for short term relief of most types of acne and studies have shown this method to have an over 80% success rate at curing acne. Follow these simple steps both morning and night. Remember, this regimen will take time and in fact may worsen the breakouts at first. This is normal. This is where most people give up. Don't be discouraged. persistence pays off.

Alkaline Face Wash Topical If your skin type does not react to well to acid topicals, try a topical with an alkaline base. If possible avoid products with harsh chemicals in them. Don't forget to use the cold pack in between applications. This is a very importent step. The cold pack causes the skin to contract and the pores to open up.
